What if your next favourite artist wasn’t served to you by an algorithm, hyped by a poster, or blasted through a playlist?
What if discovery felt… real again?
On 16 August, the SEAtide Blind Box Showcase takes over Saylah Studios, flipping the usual gig script. No lineups, sneak peeks, or bias. Just three surprise acts from Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan, revealed only when they step on stage. Think of it as a blind box for your ears: you don’t know what you’re getting, but you know it’ll be good.
Where It All Began
The concept sparked when Taiwanese guitarist Robin (MimikBanka) landed in Singapore for a pop-up gig with Freshmusic. That night, it sold out fast.
The formula? No hype, no headliners, just a raw connection between artist and audience. Partnering with Asian Pop Weekly, the idea evolved into SEAtide. A space for true discovery, where the music speaks louder than any marketing.
Why a Blind Box?
Because music deserves to be more than algorithms and popularity contests.
SEAtide creates a space where sound, not status, drives the night. You come for the mystery and leave with new favourites and maybe even a new scene to call home.
